The Arbutus

The Arbutus is a four-storey, concrete, mixed-used building located in Vancouver‘s West Side. The project features two commercial retail units at grade and 20 units across the three storeys above, with a mix of one- and two-bedroom units. Designed to harmonize with its surrounding environment, the building’s exterior is inspired by the serenity of nature and is adored with lush greenery. All units include outdoor spaces such as patios, balconies, or private roof decks in the case of top-floor units. These spacious roof decks boast beautiful gardens and fire pits, as well as expansive views of the neighbourhood and beyond. The Arbutus makes use of green building techniques including movable solar shading that mitigates heat gain during the summer and allow solar gain in the winter, effectively reducing heating and cooling loads.
